What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program focused on general physical preparedness. General physical preparedness gives us the ability to perform any task that life might throw at us. We believe in training for the unknown and unknowable. Whether you are a first responder, athlete, parent, even grandparent doesn’t matter. In life you need to be ready at any moment to perform. Whether you all of a sudden have to sprint somewhere, quickly pick up your child, climb over a fence or wall, lift something heavy once, or lift something light a lot of times, we need to be able to effectively perform these tasks at any given moment. In CrossFit we take tasks like the ones just mentioned and mix them in different ways. The physical preparedness of a firefighter should be no different than that of a parent.
Being fit is HEALTHY, and being healthy makes the things we do in life easier and helps us continue to push forward.
CrossFit Programming & Training
Our program is designed so that it can be scaled to all individuals regardless of fitness level or age. Coaches will start you at an appropriate level which will be determined by your current fitness status and experience. Scaling is accomplished by varying the load of the weights and intensity of the workout. Your commitment and hard work will allow you to achieve greater fitness and athleticism. We emphasize functional movements and our goal is to promote proper technique. The workouts combine bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, and a huge variety of drills that combine physical skills such as cardio, agility, and strength. You will find that the CrossFit atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie. Fitness is an ongoing endeavor and we believe in training for life. Our goal is to keep your fitness goals moving forward.
